Within the Whale: FAQs

Anyone with a mobility aid can comfortably, and safely enter inside the whale. See our video on our home page for a better look at the entryway (zippers on both sides of door for a wider entry point).

A: The whale is about 43 feet long, 26 feet wide (at the flippers), and 7 feet tall—just the right size for school cafeterias, gymnasiums, and community centers!

A: Possibly! As long as the weather is nice and we have access to an electrical outlet, we can be outside. A smooth surface is preferred (grass, cement, nothing pokey).

A: The whale can accommodate about 20 kids at a time (with a couple of adults). If the group is all adults, we can accommodate about 15 at a time.

A: She is named after a real whale off the coast of Maine, named Chunk. Learn more about Chunk’s story here.
